Sabah is known as the second biggest state in Malaysia after Sarawak which located at the north of the Borneos. Other than that, Sabah also often referred as “The Land below the Wind” because it’s location that situated just south of a typhoon-prone region in Philipines.
The population of Sabah is 3 120 040 where the people varies from many race such as Kadazan-Dusun, Rungus, Bajau , Malays and Chinese as to name a few. Bahasa Malaysia is a nationally spoken language though the intonation and the inflection that differs accordingly to each race. As for religion, most of the people in Sabah are Muslim, where the rest is divided to Christian, Buddhism, Hinduism and many more.
In the old days, the people of Sabah heavily depended on the nature to survive, such as fishery and the lumbering of forest. But as the time passed by, people started to be influenced by the green policy and to save mother nature. Then when the people move over to tourism little by little. The reason choosing tourism is because the geographical factor of Sabah itself that have many islands, beaches, cave and forest. These geographical factor really help Sabah to become the popular tourist spot for all over the world.
